Sketchdeck #1: NT Hunger Games (Unheroic)

Sketchdecks are first drafts of decks that just might win with a little tuning and careful play.

This is the first in the series and I’ll kick it off with an Unheroic list (Commons and Rares only) full of creatures that make the most of coming into and leaving the battlefield.

NT Hunger Games (View on ForgeBattles)

3 Blightskull Phantasm
3 Ebonbound Warlord
3 Graveborn Glutton
3 Xithian Direhound
3 Xithian Rotfiend
3 Borean Stormweaver
3 Cinderbound Barbarian
3 Flamestoke Shaman
3 Spiritfrost Shaman

3 Group Meal

Play advice: Give your Stormweavers the highest leveling priority with Gluttons a close second. Stormweaver helps you control the board and Gluttons help you push damage throughout the game. Most of the other cards in the deck allow you to read the state of the board and use combat tricks to remove your opponent’s threats before they get out of control.

That’s it for the first issue. The look and feel of these may change with feedback, so if you feel strongly, let me know what you’d like to see done differently in this series.

#sketchthemeta: As with all sketchdecks, leave your tuning and play suggestions in the comments so other players can push it forward into random queues, ladder games, and competitive outlets. If you’ve got a list you’d like to see here – leave a comment or tweet @hahectares with #sketchthemeta and your idea.

Nice deck. I fiddled with it a bit, found it fun to remove a Spiritfrost and Blightskull and add a couple of Thundergale Invokers. The deck as a lot of high-attack cards, TI is great at pushing them into an open lane for face-punches (with no level-gating to boot). If only TI’s stats were a bit nicer…

I’m not a bif fan of Spiritfrost too.
What about Flame lance or Burnout ?
